Through the teak door, the island goes still.

Thatched pavilions, stone arches, rattan and teak, all built around a courtyard and a pool. We built this home ourselves, and nothing in it is in a hurry.

Green tiles, mountain air.

A large salt-water pool, gentler on skin and eyes, set against Koh Samui’s green peaks. The living room and bedrooms open onto the deck, and the loungers are already in the shade.

Two tubs, open to the sky.

Two private soaking tubs sit in the tropical garden, each framed by a stone arch. Come soak after a day of exploring the island and watch the stars.

Evenings, unhurried.

Step down into the sunken lounge, where a built-in sofa wraps the room and rattan pendants cast a soft, woven glow across the arched shelves. The day slows the moment you sit.

Stream a film on the wall-mounted TV, or open a board game on the low table. Wifi is fast throughout, and a guest powder room is just off the living area.

Three bedrooms, three en-suites.

Each room has a king bed, its own en-suite bathroom, and air conditioning. Two bathrooms open straight to your private garden, and a stone tub where you can soak amongst the nature.

Baan Tai, Samui’s hidden gem.

Green mountains behind you, a quiet beach five minutes away. Baan Tai is the side of Koh Samui that most visitors miss. Peaceful to retreat back to, and an easy drive to everything else.
